Data /Database Architect

Oco, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Data / Database Architect on our Customer Delivery team. This individual will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of data warehouse projects. This individual will be responsible for all technical details for the projects assigned – including data analysis, database design, script development, and performance. 

The Data / Database Architect will:

  • Manage the technical aspects of customer delivery projects to accurately and efficiently analyze, document and map customer data into Oco’s Data Schema using the Oco Data Management Process
  • Work with Database Owner(s) to Design and develop new business areas for customer solutions
  • Work with other database team members to create database scripts and database load scripts; work with reporting team members to ensure that they understand the data
  • Work with our customers to ensure that all technical issues are understood and addressed
  • Optimize the performance of databases, load scripts, and report queries
  • Support the day to day operations of existing customer implementations
  • Work closely with other Delivery Team members to determine the client’s needs and how to meet project goals
Requirements:
  • Required:
    • 7+ years experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2)
    • Experience with data analysis, mapping and database design (data modeling)
    • Experience with data extraction and transformation
    • Ability to write complex SQL queries, to read and understand complex SQL queries, and to utilize other SQL artifacts (such as Stored Procedures and Views)
    • Must have strong performance analysis and performance tuning skills (SQL Query tuning)
    • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects while meeting aggressive customer deadlines
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Desired
    • Experience working with business intelligence, data warehouse, and/or large database application systems (SAP, Oracle, or BusinessObjects technologies)
    • Experience in customer facing roles preferably with a consulting firm
