Oco, Inc. has an immediate opening for a full time, Business Objects Developer in Waltham, MA. This is a great opportunity to join the leading provider of SaaS Business Intelligence and work closely with a talented technology team on customer implementations. In this role you will also play a key part in product development in support of our strategic partnership with SAP Business Objects. In addition to using your Business Object development experience, you will be trained in the use of Oco proprietary tools and technology for advanced analytics and data analysis.
The ideal candidate must be capable of working both collaboratively and independently, and be flexible, pragmatic and results focused.
The Business Objects Developer will:
- Design and implement reports and dashboards with a variety of visualization techniques to assist users in identifying critical data quickly and accurately
- Design and build Business Objects Universes for customer implementations
- Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs
- Utilize Oco's internally developed process and tools to query client data, identify key business relationships and map fields into Oco's Intelligent Data Schema
- Work closely with the Delivery Program Manager to determine the client's needs and how to meet project goals
- Ensure assigned tasks are complete within the timeframe established by the project plan
- Assist in the testing of internal systems, as well as client implementations
- Take initiative when a problem is found to notify the appropriate individuals or to fix the problem when possible
Requirements:
Must Have:
- A minimum of 2 years experience developing with the Business Objects Web Intelligence and Xcelsius tools within the last 5 years
- Experience in Business Objects Universe design, creation, and support
- 2-4 years experience with relational databases
- Experience using SQL to explore and analyze data sets
- Understanding of data structures as they relate to business behavior
- Ability to write moderate to complex SQL queries, to read and understand complex SQL queries, and to utilize other SQL artifacts (such as Stored Procedures and Views)
- Good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
- Experience with SAPBusinessObjects BIOD (Business Intelligence on Demand) platform
- Experience using software engineering tools for source control (Subversion), automated testing, and defect tracking
- Experience in specific vertical industries such as Manufacturing, Retail, or Finance
