Oco Identified in
Software-as-a-Service Category
WALTHAM, Mass. – Feb. 16, 2010 - Oco,
Inc., a leading
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of business analytics solutions, announced today that
it has been included by the well-respected market research firm, Gartner, Inc.,
in a recent report the firm published on the state of the business Intelligence
(BI) industry and its key players.
Gartner’s
Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence
Platforms, published Jan. 29, 2010, and authored by analysts Rita L.
Sallam, Bill Hostmann, James Richardson and Andreas Bitterer, provides an
analysis of the market for BI solutions in 2010 and positions the vendors
within specific categories of BI. While the report focuses on the largest
vendors in the BI marketplace, it notes the increasing interest in SaaS BI solutions because of their
rapid, lower-cost deployments. The Gartner
Magic Quadrant report names Oco as a provider of SaaS BI solutions.
“We’re
pleased to be named in the Gartner Magic
Quadrant for Business Intelligence Platforms report and to provide
real-world experiences to the report,” said Bill Copacino, president and CEO,
Oco, Inc. “Our approach to delivering a
complete solution that companies can use to immediately address business needs
stands apart in the industry from traditional tools-based approaches to SaaS
BI. As Oco customers have attested, our
SaaS-based solutions help them gain the visibility and analytics they need to
quickly identify issues and targeted areas for improvement throughout their
organizations and extended partner networks, drill down to the root cause of
problems, and make more effective business decisions.”
According
to the report, “growth [of SaaS BI] will be accelerated by organizations'
increasing need to deploy intuitive BI tools and applications cost-effectively
to more users, reduce time to value and time to scale, and lower capital
expenditures.” The
report also states that “the market for BI platforms will remain one of the
fastest-growing software markets despite the economic downturn.”
